World of Warcraft Shadowlands patch 9.1, Chains of Domination has been live for two weeks which means players have gotten to play around with the new class changes as well as the newMythic+ affix. Here’s a Mythic+ DPS Rankings for Shadowlands 9.1.
Mythic+ DPS Rankings Shadowlands 9.1
For this list, we’ll be categorizing and grouping classes by tiers.
S- Tier
Elemental Shaman, Frost Mage, Windwalker Monk, Outlaw Rogue and Fire Mage.
All of these classes and specs have one thing in common: high AoE damage. In a setting where multiple trash packs with multiple mobs are needed to be killed quickly, this is perfect for them. On top of that, classes like the Shaman and the Mage bring perhaps the strongest cooldown in the game, Lust. Elemental Shaman has perhaps one of the best AoE in all of the game while Frost has the best two-target cleave. Windwalker monk also provides a very powerful execute that could come in clutch for finishing off a Tormented affix mob. While with Outlaw Rogue, it does bring damage on its own but it can provide CCs like Gouge and Blind that other classes can’t quite bring.
A- Tier
Havoc Demon Hunter, Balance Druid, Arcane Mage, Shadow Priest, Marksmanship Hunter
Similar to the tier above, these classes also bring high AoE damage. Perhaps not as high in some cases, they still bring a lot of things to the table. Havoc Demon Hunter brings a group-wide buff while also being one of the most mobile and most tanky classes in the game. Balance Druid is perfect for spread AoE, in some small cases, while also bringing a terrific healer cooldown in the form of Innervate. Arcane Mage and Marksmanship Hunter both have great on-demand AoE while Shadow Priest is one of the kings in single target at the moment while also being able to provide Power Infusions when needed.
B-Tier
Assassination Rogue, Fury Warrior, Subtlety Rogue, Unholy Death Knight, Affliction Warlock, Survival Hunter, Arms Warrior, Retribution Paladin, Demonology Warlock, Frost Death Knight, Destruction Warlock, Enhancement Shaman, Beast Mastery Hunter
All of these classes have their own unique niche but are just simply outclassed by the tiers above them. While in some cases they can compete in high AoE damage settings, they still don’t quite stand a chance. The utility they provide is also outshined by the sheer force of the tiers above them as well. We’d only see classes like Death Knights with their Anti-Magic Zone— which can be brought by a Blood Death Knight— and Warlocks with their strong Healthstones as the outliers.
C- Tier
Feral Druid
As a class that’s been highly neglected since Mists of Pandaria, Feral Druid doesn’t offer much. A class that is somewhat reliant on bleeds wouldn’t work as the targets they attack tend to die too fast. They don’t have Innervate like Moonkin and don’t provide much CC like other melee specs.
