You'll need to embrace the grind in Elden Ring. Therefore, you might be wondering if the game has a level cap. Here's what you need to know.

Right out of the gate, you'll find yourself pretty unskilled and unprepared in Elden Ring. You'll die, die again, curse in vain then continue on, because that's all part of the process. Growing stronger is imperative, and the game provides you with a number of stats to increase to help you do so.

Each time you level up an attribute, your overall character level increases by one. The amount of Runes needed to increase your stats also grows. With all this in mind, you might be wondering if there's a particular level cap. Can you only reach a certain character level before you can no longer increase attributes?

Does Elden Ring Have a Level Cap?

Technically, yes. Elden Ring does have a level cap - but it's so large, you're unlikely to reach it unless you put in some serious work. The character level cap is actually 792, which might seem like a strange number to stop at but it's actually dictated by the attribute cap.

Each attribute stat can only be increased up to 99. These are: Vigor, Mind, Endurance, Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Faith, and Arcane. With eight attributes to level up in total, this puts the character level cap at 792.

Of course, you'd need an immense number of Runes to level up every attribute, and it's unlikely you'll even need to do this unless you're a bit of a masochist.

So, while there is a level cap in Elden Ring, I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep doing you and powering through.
