The betrayal of Soma in AC Valhalla requires players to put on their detective hats.

Assassin's Creed: Valhalla follows the story of Viking raider, Eivor, in the conflict between their clan and the neighboring Anglo-Saxons. There are several quests the player needs to undertake in this open-world adventure. Most of them, of course, revolve around honor, loyalty, and the safety of the people.

It goes without saying that traitors will not be tolerated.

The Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Season Pass contains two epic expansions and a bonus quest.

In addition, Free Seasonal Content will also be available for all players, including events, new game modes, and much more!

Who Betrayed Soma in AC Valhalla

For convenience sake, we'll tell you upfront that the true traitor is Galinn. Accusing Galinn makes way for a cutscene where Soma kills him, herself. Birna becomes available to join your raiding party after asking to settle in at Ravensthorpe.

The steps to finding out this information are simple. You'll need to question each of the three suspects: Lif, Birna, and Galinn. Most of the information is irrelevant except for what Lif has to say.

Lif will tell you that he recently had his yellow paint stolen. This is the key to unearthing the traitor. Head through Soma's escape tunnel in the longhouse and follow the yellow-paint trail to the inlet where invaders have docked their ships.

Head north along the river to find the remains of ambushed ships—on which, Lif, being the creative type he is, inscribed a few stanzas of poetry. Three guesses whose boat bears some yellow paint marks.

That's right—it's Galinn. The yellow marks are supposedly the signal for the Anglo-Saxon enemies to attack the settlement. You can confirm this by raiding a nearby encampment to the west and finding a letter from Wigmund explaining it all.
