How to Get to the Rold Route in Elden Ring

Before you go looking for the Grand Lift of Rold, you should make sure that you have defeated Morgott, the Omen King. After beating this challenging boss, you will rest at the Site of Grace in the boss arena and be greeted by Melina. She will give you the Rold's Medallion, a piece that is used to activate the Grand Lift of Rold.

After acquiring Rold's Medallion, you will need to head east as far as possible to reach a large doorway that will unlock the eastern outskirts of the capital. Through that door, you should continue up the stairway. At the top of the stairs, there will be a lever to activate an elevator. From there, players will spot a long bridge that will lead to another elevator that leads to the Forbidden Lands.

The Forbidden Lands is the only pathway that connects the Altus Plateau with the Mountaintops of the Giants. You must cross the Forbidden Lands in order to get to the Grand Lift of Rold on the other side. Standing in the way of getting to the Grand Lift, there will be two optional bosses that you can fight: Night's Cavalry and Black Blade Kindred. At the end of the path and past these two bosses, you will be able to activate the Grant Lift of Rold with Rold's Medallion.
