In a recent teaser for Pokemon GO, it turns out that Galarian Yamask will be making an appearance this Halloween, and by extension, its unique evolution as well. Here’s how to evolve a Galarian Yamask.

Galarian Yamask is a variant of the Unovan original, now becoming a Ground/Ghost-type from the original’s pure Ghost typing. Being a Galarian variant, it also has its own unique evolution: Runerigus, similar to Pokemon like Sirfetch’d and Mr. Rime.

This Halloween isn’t Runerigus’ first fright, as the Pokemon has briefly appeared in 2020. But with the recent teaser of Galarian Yamask’s appearance in this spooky season, the trainers who weren't able to get this runic ghost now have a shot of doing so: all they need to do is to find and evolve a Galarian Yamask.

How to Evolve Galarian Yamask in Pokemon GO

Evolving a Galarian Yamask isn’t quite as simple as many think. In addition to 50 Yamask candies, the player will also have to win 10 raids with Yamask as a buddy Pokemon. Then, and only then, Yamask will evolve into Runerigus. It’s important for trainers to know that any kind of raid will count towards the requirement, whether it’s an easy Tier 1 or a hard-as-nails Mega Raid.

Runerigus can only be obtained from evolving a Galarian Yamask, and remember that evolving a regular Yamask will result in Cofagrigus.

Galarian Yamask and Runerigus will return sometime in October, where players can catch and evolve them.
