ACNH Golden Tools: Everything You Need to Know

Unlike previous games, the Golden Tools in Animal Crossing: New Horizons can break.

These upgraded versions of the tools, despite being breakable, have a higher durability than any other tools in the game.

In New Horizons, each tool is unlocked after completing a certain task. After that, players can craft each tool themselves with 1 standard version of the tool and 1 golden nugget.

How to Unlock All Golden Tools in ACNH

The methods to unlock the Golden Tools are as follows:

1. Golden Axe

Once the player breaks 100 standard axes, the character will automatically learn the Golden Axe recipe.

2. Golden Rod

To unlock the Golden Rod, the player must catch all 80 fish in the game. The next day, they'll be mailed the recipe for the rod.

3. Golden Net

To unlock the Golden Net, the player must catch all 80 bugs in the game. The next day, they'll be mailed the recipe for the net.

4. Golden Shovel

The player will be able to get the recipe for the Golden Shovel through the mail after digging up Gulliver's Communicator Parts 30 times.

5. Golden Slingshot

To unlock the Golden Slingshot, the player has to destroy 300 balloons. After that, a gold balloon will appear that holds the recipe for the slingshot.

Since each standard tool has about 30 uses, this means the player must use at least 10 standard slingshots to earn this.

6. Golden Watering Can

To unlock the recipe for the Golden Watering Can, the player must bring their island approval to 5 stars.
