Does NBA 2K22 have crossplay?

Although cross-gen play capabilities is certainly out of the question — due to there being two completely different MyCareer environments depending on the platform — many are wondering if this is the year cross-platform play is in the mix. Here's the breakdown of whether or not NBA 2K22 has crossplay.

Does NBA 2K22 Have Crossplay?

Unfortunately, it appears the debut of crossplay in the virtual basketball franchise will have to wait at least another year.

Although NBA 2K22 has released for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam), there is no crossplay between different consoles or PC.

There is still, however, the cross-progression feature in MyTeam that works across generations of consoles from the same console family (Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5).

In today's age in gaming, crossplay and cross-progression features have been well-received no matter the genre, from Need for Speed Heat to Call of Duty: Warzone. Especially as PC gaming continues to become more popular, crossplay not only allows friends from different platforms to connect with one another, but it also helps keep player base numbers up as queue times are improved dramatically.

Isn’t it crazy that we have 5 different 2K’s to play right now? ?

While there remains five different NBA 2K titles of players to play park games on at the moment, each of the servers indeed remain divided depending on the title and platform.
